Mini Album / photo frame

I saw this being made on create and craft yesterday. I haven't watched it much lately but was flicking channels and I hadn't seen this ladies demos before (sorry can't remember her name!). She had a couple of good ideas and this was one of them;

I thought it would make a good christmas pressy for my parents and I will add some family photo's at a later date. This has been made as part of a christmas challenge set by a lovely friend of mine, Gina on the Docrafts scrapbooking forum. Hope you are feeling better soon Gina!

East Of England Show

Well we made it to the East of england Show on Saturday, despite the forcast being showery we were lucky with the weather and the only shower was when we were inside having a coffee so we missed it!
High light of the day was when we were able to go in the show ring with 3 packs of hunts dogs, Basset hounds, Beagles and Fox hounds. While I don't support hunting it was lovely to see all the dogs and they were so friendly especially with Ash! Amazing that despite all the people and distractions when one of the huntsmen sounded the horn all the dogs went over to him giving their full attention it as a sight to see!

The big surprise of the day was when we were walking around who should walk by us but David Hasslehoff! At first I didn't believe it was him but it has been mentioned on the local radio this morning so it seems he was there!

As the weather was quite nice in the evening we stayed for the live band this year it was Marmalade for the 60's and 70's. Although I didn't recognise them as I wasn't a fan when they were about I did know lots of the songs that they played. Sophie had a great time dancing until tiredness hit her and we had to come away!

More mini Album pictures

Here are a few more picture from my mini album as I couldn't seem to get the slide show to work I am having to put them on like this!
Well Sophie seemed in a better mood this morning! lets hope it lasts the weekend as we are hoping to go to the East Of England Contry show at Peterborough tomorrow. We usually meet up with my parents there but not sure if they are going this year as they are both under the weather with cold/ flu like symptoms!
Early start for me this morning as I dropped the boys off at school at 8.25. Sam has his second from last GCSE exam today, Sociology. Did some shopping for a picnic tomorrow and now back home. Kevin has some pupils comming up for there driving tests next week so I have to make some congratulation cards for him to give them if they pass!

Mini Album finished!

I've finally finished adding photo's , journalling, flowers , gems etc to my mini heart album! Quite pleased with the results! As ever a busy couple of days, needed to catch up on some cards what with Fathers day the weekend and a few male birthdays comming up! Also not having a great time with Sophie at the moment she was in such a bad mood this morning that she bit herself and drew blood! Hopefully this is a one off and not a new phase that she is going to. She wasn't bothered that she had hurt herself she seems to have a high pain threshold! Hopefully she will be in a better mood when she gets home from school!

My latest project...

I have decided to make a mini album of the pictures from our weekend away. I wanted to have a go at making something a bit different from my usual style and have been inspired by the lovely ladies on the docrafts forum to make an album from some corrigated card and acrylic paint. I found a heart shaped template from the Maya Road website and it seemed perfect to use as it was a romantic weekend with just Kevin and I!

I have used K & Co Double sided McKenna papers for the inside pages.
Ribbons are from a card making kit that I have recently bought from QVC but the colours matched perfectly! Now all I have to do is sort out and print off the photos!
Thanks for looking! Alyson xx

Catch up time again!!!

As usual life has been getting in the way of crafting lol!!!
No to be honest I had a lovely few days away with Kevin as part of his birthday treat! My wonderful friend flew over fron Ireland to look after the children, well mainly sophie as the boys are old enough to look after themselves!
We went to Stratford Upon Avon, Warwick, and Lemmington Spa on Friday.
Toured the beautiful Cotswolds on saturday and despite the awful weather had a lovely time!
Sunday we headed home via Bambury. All in all we had a fantastic time and I took some lovely photos which I intend to put in a mini album when I get time!

Talking of mini albums here is one I made about a month ago but this is the first chanceI have had to photograph it and add it here:

This little book and its storage box was park of a K & co kit that I purchased some time ago and I thought it would be great to do a mini book of 5 Generations of our family. It goes from the great great grand parents, through to my children today!

Sorry the photo's are a little out of sequence but I still haven't quite got the hang of this site yet!

Well Sam has almost finished his GCSE's three more to go after today! They have seemed to drag on forever mind you he had about 19 exams in total and they have been spread out with the half term break inbetween! Then an extended summer break for him before he goes back to 6th Form!I'll try to get back soon and put some of the photo's from our weekend away on!

Catch up

Things have been hectic here lately what with Sam my eldest son doing his GCSE's, my hubby's 50th birthday last Sunday and general life! Finally I have time for a catch up:

I made this 50th Birthday Album as a memento for Kevin, each of his sisters wrote a message and sent me a family photo to go in it. Quite pleased with the result I gave it to him on Saturday when we had a small family party for him!

Sunday we went to Brancaster in Norfolk. Not the best of ideas as the traffic was horrendous due to the lovely weather and we got stuck in traffic jams both there and back! Ash, my middle son had the oportunity to go flying with the Air cadetes so he did that as there were only 4 given the opportunity from the 15 that put there names down! He went to RAF cranwell. Pictures to follow when I get more time.......

Not a great start to the day......

as I found Boo our lovely cockateal dead in the bottom of her cage this morning:( Then had the job of telling the boys, not sure that Sophie would understand but will cross that bridge when we come to it. Merlin our other cockateal is now hiding away in his box he only joined us just after christmas and was a stray so he has always been with Boo since we had him.

Not the best picture but the only one I could find of her at the moment!
