Small Altered Drawer and Shelf Unit

Close up of Drawer.
This unit started out a dark brown colour. Sadly I forgot to take a before photo but I am sure you can imagine what it was like.
As you can see I used my ASCP again in Old Ochre and Old White. With an undercoat of Duck Egg Blue for the knobs. I then Decoupage Websters Pages paper to add some more "Shabby" interest.
This could be used as a jewelery box, letter writing unit, needlework box infact I'm sure there are countless other uses too!
I will be listing this on ebay at some stage so I am hoping someone will love it as much as I do!

Third Project..................

We are revamping our bathroom which is an ongoing job as we are changing the bathroom suite etc. Anyhow we wanted some storage to go in there so I found this cupboard (above) on ebay .
As the new bathroom suite is white and I wanted a shabby look I decided to paint the unit with Annie Sloan Paints in Old White and Graphite.
Here is the result:
Sorry was having troble with the light when I took these!

I am planning to give the top another coat of wax when the bathroom is complete but at the moment it is quite dusty with a hole in the floor and a patch of bare wall :o(

Over all I am pleased with how it turned out!
Right off to find what else I can paint.........

Refurbishing Furniture!!!

As mentioned in my last post my latest "Obsession" is refurbishing furniture! A few weeks ago I came across Annie Sloan Chalk paints and just knew it was something I wanted to try! I am currently refurbishing my third piece of furniture which is a storage cupboard for our bathroom. I will share that in a future post.
The first piece I painted and waxed was an old corner cupboard that had been in our loft for years. It was originally dark wood but now look at it after painting with Duck egg inside and Old Ochre outside. It now fits perfectly in our shabby bedroom! See above.
Now for the dresser that I teased you with in my previous post. It started like this:

Then after painting with Duck Egg Blue and an over paint of old ochre and old white mixed, some gentle sanding in places and two coats of wax it looked like this:
Purchased some ceramic Duck Egg colour crackled knobs to complete the look!
Inside cupboard and drawers is painted in the Duck Egg Blue.
Sorry for the variation in colours in these photo's the more cream colour is a truer shade!

Have you used this paint? If so I'd love to hear what you think of it?

My son was back from uni this weekend so he made her a birthday cake (Lemon Drizzle yum!!)

Just wanted to share a couple of photo's! The bottom picture is the cake displayed on a dresser that I have been refurbishing. More on that in my next post!
