Green House Mini Album

Have finally got round to sitting down with Sophie for some crafting and we have made a good start on her mini greenhouse album. Must admit I made the book a couple of weeks ago and had all the photos printed, cut to size and with double sided tape on ready as her attention span is not great. Sophie loves to help pull the backing of the tape and had great fun choosing the peel offs that I found with a garden theme so suitable and easy to use in the book!
It is not finished but the intention is to add photos of the plants as they grow and hopfully of the tomatoes etc at the end! A good record for Sophie of how vegtables grow!

Time flies!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well its official my eldest son has now left school. It was his last day today and Study leave starts tomorrow with exams over the next few weeks! where have the years gone? The "children" are getting so grown up!!!! He is hoping to go to sixth form for his A levels but tells me it is different from school as he will be treated more like an adult ( he won't be 16 until august so is one of the youngest in the year)! just thought I would mark the occasion with a mention on my blog!

Jacobs Ladder Mini Album

Its been a busy few days. We had the OT in today to see about sorting a wet room for Sophie downstairs as we are in the process of converting the garage into a downstairs bedroom for her. Hopefully it will give her a bit more independance as she gets older!

Have also been in the new greenhouse planting seeds ready for the summer! I have been taking photos as I have set a little project for Sophie and I to do, which is a mini book about the greenhouse. The only problem being at the moment that Sophie won't set foot inside it as it is plastic windows and not glass and makes a terrible noise when the wind blows! The unfortunate thing is that it has been breezy everyday so far since it has been assembled :(

One project that I have completed during the evenings is a Jacobs Ladder mini Album:
I have called it "Girls Just Want To Have Fun!" as it is filled with photo's of Sophie doing just that!
Not 100% happy with it as ribbon could do with being a bit narrower but a fun project all the same!

Sophie's mini communication book

Just a quick catch up on my latest projects:

First of all an anniversary card for my brother and sister in law.

Made using Joanna Sheen Victorian Romance CD Rom. Actually made a couple of these as sister in law also have anniversary this month!

I am also in the process of making Sophie a mini book for her to fill with photos etc about the greenhouse ( as mentioned in a previous post) as the idea is that she helps me to plant the seeds and care for them!

My final quick project was to make Sophie a mini communication book for her to use when we are out and about. Sophie uses a system called PECs and have an A4 folder of probably about 100 symbols that she uses at school and home but it isn't very convenient to take when we go out. So I thought it would be useful to have a mini book of just the basic signs that she could carry in a small bag and have access to when we are out. I have used book rings so that the signs can be added to.

Each sign is laminated to make it stronger and I have used clear sticky backed plastic on the covers to make them more hard wearing and wipeable of sticky finger marks!

I finished it last night and when I showed it to Sophie this morning she flicked through it straight away and found the snack page, cheeky thing she is always driven by food lol!

Double Lay out

Just a quick visit today to show the double lay out that I did last night. First time I have done a "proper" double lay out and I am pleased with the result. I used my cosmo cricket kit as this is the kit I am using for this holiday album. Made the embelishments by cutting out and layering up some of the flowers from the paper that I used for the central photo mat, then added a gem to some of the flower centers. So pleased with the overall effect that I will repeat this style of lay out again!

Well its bank holiday weekend and so far the sun is shining. Hubby is in the garden putting up a new greenhouse for me that we bought the end of last year in the sales. Will take some photos as will make a good scrapping page I think at a later date! Best go and help.....
